# Low coop jump: DIY coop horse jump plans

Explore the proportions of a low coop-style horse obstacle. The model shows a 10 ft long, 2 ft wide form rising to 30 in, with six internal frames and two closed faces. This is a visual design reference, not a construction plan.

## Before you start

- Design inspiration: dimensioned visual reference and editable concept geometry, not a construction plan.
- Use the files to study proportions and possible variations. A physical adaptation needs its own connection, release and installation details.
- The model does not specify structural fasteners, ridge/seam connections or ground anchorage, and it has no established impact or load rating.
- The illustrated panel and frame ridge edges are steep bevels. Their coordinates describe geometry; they are not instructions to exceed a saw or jig operating limit.
- Actual panel stock must be measured: the 95-15/16 in main panels leave only 1/16 in total length allowance on a nominal 96 in sheet.

## Instructions

### 1. Read the silhouette

- Start with the 120 x 24 x 30 in outside envelope. The sloping faces create the coop shape; the internal frame is visible in the end view with the skins hidden.

Check: Identify the outer envelope and the separate internal frame.

### 2. Look inside the frame

- The illustrated frame centers are 3/4, 24, 48, 72, 96 and 119 1/4 in along the length. Five frame pairs use 2 x 4 stock; the wider seam frame uses 4 x 4 stock. These choices describe the model, without establishing strength.

Check: Locate all six frames and the wider frame at 96 in.

### 3. Follow the panel seam

- Each face combines a 95-15/16 in main panel and a 23-15/16 in extension, with a 1/8 in gap over the wider frame. The stated 32 5/16 in width is the outer sloping face.

Check: The two panels and gap total 120 in on each face.

### 4. Explore variations in CAD

- Try colors, face treatments or proportions in a copy of the native model. Keep the original as a dimensional reference. A size change also changes panel shapes, frame geometry and material quantities.

Check: Save a separate study copy and identify every dimension changed.

## Using the CAD files

- Open the native file in FreeCAD to inspect or edit individual solid components. The dimension spreadsheet is informational and does not regenerate geometry.
- The STEP export carries matching concept geometry. Missing joints, cups and anchorage are intentional omissions from this visual reference.
- Save changes in a separate study file. When changing dimensions, update the related model geometry and reference quantities together.
